Mazda intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive)

Mazda intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive)

Mi-drive is a system that switches the drive modes depending on the driving conditions, road conditions and vehicle conditions.

POWER mode

This mode maximizes responsiveness. It increases vehicle response when the accelerator pedal is depressed and accelerates powerfully.

NORMAL mode

This mode optimizes fuel efficiency.

TRAIL mode

This mode prevents the drive wheels from spinning when driving on rough roads and improves the running performance. Use only when driving on rough roads.

Warning and Cautions for Using the Mazda intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive)

Always heed the following when using TRAIL mode.

  • Use TRAIL mode only when driving on rough roads.

  • Make sure that the TRAIL mode indication turns on before driving.

  • TRAIL mode is not a mode that enhances the vehicle's performance limits. Check the road conditions and drive the vehicle while paying attention to safety.

  • Do not use TRAIL mode continuously for a long period of time. Depending on the driving conditions, the related parts may be adversely affected and the system may not operate normally. If you use TRAIL mode continuously for a long period of time, a message may be displayed on the multi-information display and TRAIL mode may be canceled.

  • Do not use the POWER mode when driving on slippery roads such as wet or snow-covered roads. It may cause tire slipping.

  • Heed the following cautions so that the system can operate normally.

    • Use the specified tire size and the same type of tire on all 4 wheels.

    • Do not use tires with significantly different wear patterns on the same vehicle.

How to Use the Mazda intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive)

  1. Push the Mi-Drive switch forward or pull it toward you.

  2. While checking the list displayed in the multi-information display, push the Mi-Drive switch forward or pull it toward you to select a drive mode.

When the drive mode is set, the display in the multi-information display changes.

    (POWER mode)

    (NORMAL mode)

    (TRAIL mode)

  • If the vehicle power is switched OFF when POWER or TRAIL mode is selected, and then the vehicle power is switched ON, NORMAL mode will be selected.

  • When POWER mode is selected, driving the vehicle at higher engine speeds increases and fuel economy may worsen. Canceling POWER mode during normal driving is recommended.

  • TRAIL mode is designed to maximize driving performance on rough roads which may result in lower fuel economy.

  • You may hear vibration or operation noise from the vehicle body or steering wheel when TRAIL mode is selected or during use, however this does not indicate a problem.

  • If the multi-information display does not change even if TRAIL mode is selected, the system may have malfunction. Have your vehicle inspected by an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
